Every Christmas Eve, Derek’s family had the tradition of opening one gift. Derek planned his surprise proposal, but it was almost ruined by his mother who insisted that his soon-to-be fiancée should open a different present (of Christmas tablecloths!) instead of the gift Derek had for her.
